Martini Cocktails : These are made with gin & vermouth or vodka & vermouth & are shaken or stirred and of course James Bond liked the vodka ones.
For all Vodka martinis put vodka in the fridge for a while until its really cold or put it in the freezer for a short time.
Vodka Martini : The one James Bond is known for and its shaken - this is the ne he drank in Casino Royale.
1& 1/2 shot of vodka 3/4 shot of dry vermouth
Place vodka and vermouth in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well. Strain into a martini glass. Serve with an olive.

3 measures gin 2 measure vodka ½ measure Lillet Blanc
Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel.
Lillet Blanc isn't a vermouth; it's a French aperitif, blended from wine, liqueurs, fruits and herbs.
Cranberry Vodka Martin
3 shots vodka 5 shots cranberry juice ½ shot vermouth
Place the vodka, cranberry juice and vermouth in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well. Pour into martini glasses. Serve with a slice of lime.
Now ... should you shake or stir?
Vodka martini should always be served cold as vodka tastes better cold and as a martini with ice will be colder shaken rather than stirred it is advisable to shake not stir.
Gin martini should be smooth and according to expertsgin get spoiled when shaken as shaking will aeratethe martini resulting in a slight change to the taste so it is recommended to stir a gin martini.
